Welcome to the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Botanical Garden website!

The Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Botanical Garden is one of the oldest gardens in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Founded in 1852, it has a long history and an extremely rich plant collection. Today, the Botanical Garden is an internationally renowned institution for education, research, and nature conservation, functioning at the Lviv University. The Garden’s territory is divided into two areas located in different parts of the city of Lviv: one on Cyril and Methodius Str., 4 (2 ha) and the other one on Marka Cheremshyny Str., 44 (16.5 ha).
There is a wide range of educational activities carried on at the Garden, aiming at disseminating botanical and ecological knowledge among the public. With this purpose, the Garden annually holds open days, which can be visited by the city residents and guests. The Garden’s staff regularly conducts excursions (by appointment) for school and university students.
